ASHA Worker Recruitment 2026 – Varanasi District
National Health Mission, Uttar Pradesh through Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Varanasi has announced 485 ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) Worker vacancies across all blocks of Varanasi district.
Post Details
- ASHA Worker: 485 posts
- Location: All PHC/CHC areas of Varanasi district
Eligibility
- Education: Must have passed 10th class from recognized board
- Age: 25-45 years
- Residency: Must be a permanent resident of the village/ward where vacancy exists
- Gender: Female candidates only
- Marital Status: Married/Widow/Divorced women preferred
Remuneration
- Performance-based incentive: ₹4,000-8,000/month average
- Additional incentives for institutional delivery, immunization drives, TB case detection, etc.
- Insurance coverage under PMJJBY scheme
Selection Process
- Application submission at Block CHC/PHC
- Verification of documents by ANM and Medical Officer
- Selection by Village Health Sanitation & Nutrition Committee (VHSNC)
- Approval by Block Medical Officer
- Training (23 days induction + module-based training)

- Bridge between community and public health system
- Facilitate institutional deliveries
- Support immunization programs
- Distribute contraceptives and health supplements
- Report disease outbreaks and health emergencies
